Why did you choose Paxton House for your wedding venue?
We chose the boathouse at Paxton House because it suited our vision for a small celebration and chilled out day with our nearest and dearest. The location right on the riverside feels very private and secluded and ticked all the boxes for something low key and cosy.
Did you feel like your vision and priorities were realised?
Our vision of an intimate, outdoor wedding was definitely brought to life by Mel at Paxton House. She ensured the Boathouse looked exactly as we envisioned and made the process stress free by recommending brilliant local suppliers who knew both her and the venue which made everything seamless on the day.
What surprised you most about Paxton House as a venue?
We were surprised at how versatile this venue could be and how much of our own stamp we could put on the day. Although modest in size, the Boathouse could be decorated however we wanted and guests could be seated inside or outside. The peace and tranquillity of the riverside is something special that we didn’t find at other venues and we were able to throw an oathing stone into the Tweed after our vows!
