Exploring Slavery Tour

A group of adults and children are gathered listening to a man explaining their environment. They have our back to us and are standing in a historic interior looking towards a display case containing an embroidered man's waistcoat and top coat from the 1740s.

A brand new tour of Paxton House developed following extensive research exploring the colonial connections of Paxton House and the Home family with Virginia and the Caribbean, particularly Grenada, from 1715 to 1850.

Explore our transatlantic slavery history through food, paintings, furniture, costume, archives and learn more about both the individuals who were enslaved and their enslavers.

The tour will last around 1.5 hours and is led by our experienced guides. Suitable for anyone aged over 14. Tickets £15 for adults, £40 for a family ticket for 2 adults and up to 3 children, £7 children 5 to 16.
