Music at Paxton: The Fountaineers

A blue light concert platform holds a lively trio: A man in a tn shirt with sun glasses plays a mandolin next to a guitar player in a maroon trilby who leans in towards a girl

Callum Morton-Teng, mandolin

Jeri Foreman, fiddle

Michael Wright, guitar/vocals

Rob Hart, banjo

“Classic toe-tapping Bluegrass! Admiration for American roots music from the Appalachian mountains has inspired The Fountaineers to create their own unique blend of harmonies with buoyant musical improvisation.”

Tethered by an interest in American roots and bluegrass music rarely found in Scotland, The Fountaineers formed as a quartet during 2020’s summer of socially-distanced interactions. Having found space of their own in Glasgow, a home renowned for its fierce traditional music scene, the foursome are creating music that adheres to traditions, fosters creativity and blends the progressive intent found in shared musical heroes such as Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs, Tony Rice and Allison Krauss and Union Station.

Saturday 27 July at 5pm (1 hr). Tickets £10 (conc £6) free entry for under-12s. In the marquee. Book here.
