Annual pass includes all year access to grounds and gardens plus free entry to our Easter, Summer and Christmas Fairs. Free parking.

 

Paxton House Gardens are a partner garden of the RHS and offer free entry to RHS members on Mondays, Thursdays & Sundays. Please show your membership card at the ticket desk (member 1 only for joint memberships).

Opening Times

The House

House admission by guided tour only.

Easter – end of October

Monday – Sunday: Tours at 10.15am, 11.45am, 2pm.

Tour times in October: 11.15 and 1pm only.

Grounds & Gardens

Daily all year

Monday – Sunday: April to September, 10am – 4pm;

October to December, 11am – 3pm.

 

Stables Tearoom

Easter to December

Monday to Sunday: April to September, 10am – 4pm;

October to December, 11am – 3pm

 

Accessibility

There is lift access to the first floor of the house. Please inform a member of staff if you need to use the lift.  The Courtyard,  Stables Tearoom and Gift Shop are all accessible by wheelchair. Please call in advance if you need further information.

Dogs

Dogs on leads are welcome at Paxton.  Dog poo bins are available in the grounds and dogs can visit the Stables Tearoom in the courtyard or the dog-friendly Harness Room. Please understand that we cannot allow dogs into the house (except assistance dogs).

Getting To Paxton House

By Car

From The North

Follow the A1 Berwick upon Tweed by-pass. Turn right onto the B6461 signposted Paxton House. The entrance is on the left after 3 miles.

From The South

Follow the A1 and cross the River Tweed. Turn left onto the B6461 signposted Paxton House. The entrance is on the left after 3 miles.

By Bus

Borders Buses run bus service 32 from Tweedmouth and Berwick upon Tweed via local villages to Paxton House. Please check current timetables before setting off.

By Train

A fast and reliable train service connects Berwick-upon-Tweed with Edinburgh and London along the East Coast Mainline. From there, it’s only 5 miles to Paxton House.
