The Stables Tearoom

History of the Stables Tearoom

The Stables Tearoom at Paxton House has found a home in the Georgian East Wing of the house which was the original stable used by the Home family horses.  In its bright modern interior, the tearoom retains many of the original stable fittings including the painted stalls where once the family hunters, carriage and riding ponies were housed.  Today these stalls make rather good partitions between tables while the tables in the open area of the room have a view across the entrance courtyard of the house to the Georgian kitchen in the West Wing.
