Snow Family, Nottingham

The whole approach to weddings at Paxton was very relaxed & considered- it made what can be a really stressful time for couples super easy and straightforward. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Paxton as a fabulous place to get married and our pictures turned out STUNNING, thanks in large part to the spectacular backdrop.

Andrew and Emily , October 2019

Paxton House was our dream wedding venue! We wanted something a little different, and we were totally captured by the stunning picture gallery. The flexibility of having the ceremony in a different space to the reception was perfect for us, as we knew we would have a lot of guests, and we knew we wouldn’t be able to rely on the weather for drinks outside.

Came here for the boat trip again. It’s one our favourite things to do here.Very reasonable price; great commentary about the river Tweed and its history

“The children got to take part in role play, trying on costumes, handling and viewing items from the Victorian era. The children thoroughly enjoyed their day and I would definitely recommend it to others.”

Mr Smith, London

Our second visit which was as wonderful as the first. Paxton House is a very special place and it’s a privilege to stay in the Garden Apartment – already looking forward to returning!

Mr & Mrs Williams, Lancashire

The Paxton commission is especially interesting because it was intended for a new kind of interior – a semi public art gallery, designed to create one of the great Scottish Enlightenment interiors. The adjacent Library has by contrast, furniture in Trotter’s more domestic New Town manner.
