Water Shanty Fun

Explore how music has been shaped by water.

Music around the world and throughout history has always been inextricably linked with water. Debussy and Handel wrote “classical” music about it, sailors and fisherfolk traditionally sang about it, and the Baka people of Cameroon even make music with it!

Come along to learn how other people have used rivers and oceans to be creative and perhaps be inspired yourself. Be prepared to make sound, to move and to listen. No equipment or prior knowledge required, but if you play a musical instrument please do bring it along.

Suitable for children aged 5-10 years. Tickets: £3.
