Coming from the Scottish Borders, Louise takes  inspiration from the hills and fauna of the area. She  uses ink, pencil and a mixture of tools to add texture and detail in each painting. Louise likes to explore the differences between reality and the abstract, as well as how mood and technique combine to represent a subject. Louise tries to convey a feeling or mood through her work and hopes it brings a nostalgic perspective to some familiar scenes and inspires a love of the natural world. Last year Louise was accepted for the South of Scotland Visual Artist and Craft Maker Award. This has allowed her to broaden her skills and has seen her participate in courses at Leith School of Art.
